PREPARING A USEFUL PHOTO ESTIMATE
Use photographs to begin a conversation, then confirm the condition with the shop.
Can you provide an estimate from photos?
Yes, as a starting point. Photos are a good way to start a conversation and a poor way to finish one. They let us give you a preliminary assessment: roughly what you are looking at, whether the vehicle is likely repairable and what the next step should be, all without you driving anywhere. What they cannot show is what is behind the panel, so a photo estimate is always a starting figure that gets confirmed once the vehicle is here and apart and the team has the complete picture.
Initial estimate versus repair plan
An estimate written in a parking lot only accounts for what can be seen without disassembly. It is a starting figure, and any shop that tells you otherwise is guessing. The complete repair plan is the real document, built once the vehicle is evaluated in the shop: it lists the operations, the parts, the refinish times and the procedures the manufacturer specifies for that vehicle. You get to see it, and so does your insurer, before the work begins. If the plan changes because something was found during disassembly, you hear about it from us at that point rather than at pickup.
